    👉 Sahih Muslim (Kitab al-Salat)

📖 Hadith (Qudsi) – Allah responds to Al-Fatihah

The Prophet ﷺ said that Allah says:

“I have divided the prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves, and My servant will have what he asks for…”

    Then when the servant recites:

“Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin” → Allah says: “My servant has praised Me”

“Ar-Rahmanir Rahim” → Allah says: “My servant has extolled Me”

“Maliki Yawmid-Din” → Allah says: “My servant has glorified Me” (or “entrusted his affairs to Me”)

“Iyyaka na’budu wa iyyaka nasta’in” → Allah says: “This is between Me and My servant, and My servant will have what he asks”

“Ihdinas-siratal mustaqim…” (until end) → Allah says: “This is for My servant, and My servant will have what he asks”

    Found in: Sahih Muslim

    Status: Sahih (authentic)

Type: Hadith Qudsi (Allah speaking, narrated by Prophet ﷺ)

    💡 How scholars explain it

This shows Al-Fatihah is not just recitation, but a direct “conversation” (munajat) with Allah.

Even though we don’t hear the response, it is real and happening according to this hadith.

That’s why khushu’ (focus) is emphasized — you’re literally “speaking” and being responded to.

⚠️ Small note (to avoid misunderstanding)

Some speakers simplify wording like “Allah jawab setiap ayat” — that’s fine in meaning, but:

The hadith groups some ayat together (especially last part)

So it’s not strictly 1 ayat = 1 response, but conceptually yes, it’s a dialogue
